LeAnn Rimes Opens Up About Affair & Weight Scrutiny

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

LeAnn Rimes is putting it all on the table -- talking openly about her affair with now-husband Eddie Cibrian and rumors she has an eating disorder.

"It's definitely been hard to see tons of lies written about a situation that people don’t necessarily know the truth," Rimes says in a sit down with Ellen DeGeneres.

"Obviously we made decisions that were not necessarily the right ones but it obviously brought us to the place where we are now," she says of getting together with Eddie when both of them were married to other people.

"The way we handled it, I will always say, it could’ve been handled a lot better but maybe we both didn’t have the tools at the time to do it properly," she adds. "Obviously we all make choices that lead us into.. a different path here and there and you learn from those or you don’t."

Of life now she says, "I think we have both come to a really good place in our lives. And, right now, I’m really at peace."

Of course, it's not all sunshine and rainbows for Rimes -- because the public scrutiny on her weight is takes its toll.

When asked if she was anorexic or bulimic by Ellen, Rimes says "No, I am not but I do feel like the press… they’ve been very irresponsible calling a lot of people, fat or anorexic or bulimic or whatever It may be."

"These are diseases and using them as name calling. It’s almost bullying.  I feel a sense of responsibility for the people that are actually going through these diseases and I’m not one of them."

See the full interview with LeAnn when it airs today on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

0928_hogan_home_launch

The real estate market has Hulk Hogan in a serious chokehold -- because the Florida mansion he once listed for $25 MILLION ... has now been reduced all the way to $8.87 million.

As for the 17,145 square foot estate -- it boasts 5 bedrooms, 9.5 baths, a boathouse, a pool with a two-tier waterfall, and a four car garage.

It's a buyers market ... if you've got a few mil to spare.

It's not the first time CBS has had an anthrax scare -- just last year, the studio went on lockdown when production staff found white powder in a letter addressed to Bristol Palin.

Officials also intercepted a threatening letter addressed to "Late Late Show" hostCraig Ferguson just last month. The letter also contained white powder -- which was later determined to be cornmeal.

Reports are circulating ... Josie was rushed to a medical facility after her "oxygen levels had spiraled down" -- but sources close to the family tell TMZ, the reports were blown way out of proportion.

We're told 21-month-old Josie was merely experiencing some cold symptoms -- and was taken to a doctor's office to get them checked out.

The video -- shot days after her doctor's visit -- seems to corroborate the story ... showing Josie in great spirits, laughing and playing in a park.

Dr. Conrad Murray is handling one ultra-important aspect of his defense all by himself -- picking out the snazzy ties he's wearing to his manslaughter trial each day.

Sources connected to doc Murray tell us he is taking a serious, yet frugal, approach to his ties -- sky blue and gold, so far -- choosing to stick with the ones in his closet ... instead of going on a necktie shopping spree.

We're told Murray has plenty to choose from -- the trial could go several months -- and he has two key criteria: no black (major downer) and no small patterns (not good for tv cameras).

Knot for nothin' -- but, we gotta ask ..

0928_george_stacey_elisebetta_ex

The report in the current issue of US Weekly ... claims Elisabetta Canalis fired off a series of angry texts to George when she found out he was dating Stacy Keibler.

But George tells TMZ, the story "was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines. I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others...and this lie affects others."

George added this challenge to US Weekly, "Since I would be the only actual witness, I ask you to correct your story immediately, but that would assume you cared at all about telling the truth."

TYRESE Banned from the Airwaves in Delaware

0928_tyrese_getty_exYou won't be hearing any Tyrese songs on the radio in Delaware in the near future ... because the singer's music has been banned from the biggest hip hop station in the state.

TMZ spoke with Tony Quartarone --  the station owner at KISS 101.7 -- who tells us he's not upset with Tyrese because he took a stand against liquor stores ... instead, he claims the problem was the way the singer addressed his listeners.

Quartarone says, "Tyrese was not kicked off the air for pointing out that liquor stores should not be located near schools ... I totally agree with that. But ... he proceeded to downgrade my audience by calling them 'homies.'"

Quaratone says he felt the language was condescending -- and that's why he asked Tyrese to leave the building Monday morning. After Tyrese tweeted about the incident, Quaratone says he decided to ban Ty's music until he gets an apology.

He probably won't get one -- Tyrese called in to "TMZ Live" yesterday and told us he simply didn't care if the station takes his music out of rotation.

Fed-up Irish music store introduces "Strictly NO Adele" policy

Adele

WANNABE Adeles were not welcome at a Dublin music store after staff officially banned customers from playing the British soul singer's hit Someone Like You.
Despite being the best selling single of the year so far, one music store has heard more than enough of the favourite ballad.
Workers at the Opus ii musical instrument supplier were so sick of hearing people try to play the ballad on their pianos and keyboards that they put a "Strictly NO Adele" sign up in the window.
"It's become the piano equivalent of [Led Zeppelin's] Stairway To Heaven, everyone thinks they can play it," an Opus ii shop employee told The Independent newspaper. "The sign was a bit of a joke, but the song can drive you mad."
The Irish store already banned Beethoven's Fur Elise and anything by Michael Nyman, who wrote the soundtrack for the 1983 movie The Piano.

    Troy Thompson

BEAUTY and the Geek male hottie Troy Thompson has already sidestepped his geeky partner, hooking up with not one, but two of the female beauties in the house.
The personal trainer from Bondi was partnered with Canberra statistician Helen for the series - the first male beauty and female geek pairing in the show's history.
Though meant to be Helen's man, it was the beauties that caught the eye of the sometime model and topless waiter, with Thompson admitting he finds love on the show - twice.
"There was chemistry right from the start, but that chemistry was not used, er, properly," Thompson said, giggling.
"I was confused. I went in to the house thinking 'Oh, I'm not here to hook up with anyone, I'm here for my geek' but then, yeah, that didn't happen."
Although he couldn't be coaxed into sharing the names of his new flames, Thompson admitted he was still seeing the second person. "They are pretty amazing, right up my alley."
Thompson said he never let the romance get in the way of his beauty duties.
"Helen is the smartest person I've ever met. She's taught me so many interesting facts and I helped her come out of her shell," he said.

'Housewives' star Taylor Armstrong details abuse

Taylor Armstrong, from the Bravo reality TV series 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills', arrives at the unveiling of artist Jack Armstrong's 'Cosmic Starship' Harley-Davidson motorcycle at Bartels Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey, California October 21, 2010. REUTERS/Fred Prouser(Reuters) - In her first interviews since her husband's suicide, "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Taylor Armstrong is detailing abuse she claims she suffered from her spouse, including punches, pulled hair and death threats.
Armstrong spoke to TV show "Entertainment Tonight" in a story airing on Wednesday, and she appears on daytime talk show "Dr. Phil" on Thursday to discuss her plight that culminated in Russell Armstrong hanging himself at home in August, only weeks before a new season of the show debuted on Sept. 5.
In an excerpt posted on "Entertainment Tonight's" website, Armstrong tells the show's Nancy O'Dell that Russell Armstrong physically abused her "maybe 20 times" throughout their marriage.
"The first time he ever really harmed me physically, I was pregnant with Kennedy (their daughter), and he grabbed me by the throat and held me up against a wall," Armstrong said.
The reason, she said, was because she had cooked his kids a pizza, but hadn't served them vegetables along with it.
From there, the assaults escalated, but he would wait until the two were alone, perhaps in their car. Armstrong said her husband would hide his abuse by grabbing or hitting her head so that any welts would be covered by her hair. "Russell was very careful about how he would do things," she said.
Taylor Armstrong is a key member of the show about wealthy and pampered women living in posh Beverly Hills. Her marriage troubles with Russell Armstrong were expected to be a key story in the second season that was taped earlier this year.
But on Aug. 15, Russell Armstrong was found dead at home, age 47. The show debuted as planned, but with a new segment in which the other cast members, excluding Taylor Armstrong, talked about his suicide.
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," which airs on the Bravo cable network, has continued to run with Taylor appearing in episodes that show her having a nervous breakdown as her marriage collapses. But tape of Russell has been edited out.
Taylor filed for divorce in July, but until now she has not spoken in any interviews. On "Entertainment Tonight," she details a final blow to her eye that led to her estrangement from Russell. That punch fractured bones in her face, and medical tests showed damage in her brain.
"When I finally showed him the MRI, he just put it down and started to cry," Armstrong said. "I think it was him having to come to terms with the fact this had gone on far too long.
She said she did not speak out during the marriage because she loved her husband and did not want him to go to jail. But now, she said that she hopes her story helps other women who are suffering abuse from their own husbands.

Jane Goodall stages unique live, film premiere

NEW YORK - World renowned primatologist Jane Goodall began her groundbreaking research into chimpanzees over 50 years ago in Tanzania's Gombe National Park, leaving an indelible imprint on the way humans view animals.

Reuters) - World renowned primatologist Jane Goodall began her groundbreaking research into chimpanzees over 50 years ago in Tanzania's Gombe National Park, leaving an indelible imprint on the way humans view animals.
On Tuesday this week, the 77 year-old animal researcher and United Nations Messenger of Peace, is featured in an unusual event in 500 movie U.S. movie theaters.
The one-night only "Jane Goodall Live!" features the U.S. premiere of documentary "Jane's Journey," about her life with appearances by Angelina Jolie, Pierce Bronson, and Charlize Theron. There also will be a live question-and-answer session with Goodall and her friend and musician Dave Matthews.
Reuters spoke to the anthropologist about the upcoming event, what people can do to make a difference in keeping the planet healthy, and what humans can learn from animals.
Q: What will audiences discover on "Jane's Journey?"
A: "The film was long in the making by German independent filmmaker, Lorenz Knauer, and it's been running in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain other European countries for several months. The audience response is similar to the response I receive at my lectures, as they leave teary-eyed, saying, 'What can we do?'
"We haven't been doing enough to help the planet." The message of let's wake up and take care of this planet, we've been stealing from our children before it's too late, is the message I hope that audiences will embrace."
Q: At what age did you know that working as an animal conservationist would be your life's calling?
A: "From a tiny, tiny age I loved animals, observed animals, went on nature walks, watched "Dr. Dolittle" and fell in love with Tarzan. I was 11 when I decided that I would go to Africa and live with animals and write books about them.
"It was in Africa that I met Louis Leakey, the late renowned paleontologist, who gave me this opportunity to go out and study chimpanzees. I had no degree of any sort then. What an amazing and extraordinary journey it really has been."
Q: Angelina Jolie, Charlize Theron and Dave Matthews are just a few of the high-profile celebrities who are helping to get your message out. How does it feel to have a whole new generation of people becoming familiar with your work?
A: "I find it really necessary. I wouldn't mind if they weren't familiar with my work, per se. The important thing is to understand that every one of us makes a difference, every day, and we can live with a lighter ecological footprint.
"When you have people like Angelina Jolie getting behind the film, that can attract some people who might not otherwise be interested and then hopefully they get the message, too. In fact, that's what's been happening. In Europe, the film received the 'Green Oscar.'"
Q: What can we humans learn from the animal world?
A: "First of all we should learn a bit of humility, that we are of course different, but not as different as we may think. From chimpanzees, I have substantiated my belief of the tremendous importance of the first couple years of life and the kind of experiences a child has. The human child psychologists have been talking about that for a long time. In chimpanzees, it's so easy to trace the effects of a traumatic experience, because unlike us, they don't try to hide the way they feel, they just act the way they feel."
Q: If chimps could talk what would they tell humans?
A: They would probably tell us to leave them alone, get out of the forest and protect the forest. That's probably what they would tell us to do.
Q: So what can one person do to make a difference?
A: "Each person can just spend a little bit of time each day thinking about the consequences of what you buy, what you eat, what you wear and how you interact with people. If millions of people think about the consequences, they start to change and then we achieve the kind of change we must see on this planet."
Q: What do you think has been your greatest achievement and what are you most proud of in your work?
A: "People from all over the world continue to tell me that, 'In The Shadow of the Man,' published in 52 languages, has had a lasting impact on them. Also helping people understand that animals do have personalities, minds and feelings and that they matter as individuals.
"The other accomplishment I'm most proud of is starting Roots and Shoots so we involve young people for caring for our planet before it's too late."
