'Inglourious Basterds' Sequel? Brad Pitt Says Quentin Tarantino Has Spoken About It

After shifting between art house and major commercial success for nearly two decades, Quentin Tarantino hit it huge in 2008 with his World War II revenge film, "Inglourious Basterds." A critical smash, the flick took in $320 million worldwide, obliterating his previous high of $180 million for "Kill Bill: Volume I," and won Christoph Waltz an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
So in this Hollywood climate of sequels, prequels and re-dos, why not make another? According to Brad Pitt, that just may happen.
Pitt, who starred in the film as Aldo Raine, the Army First Lieutenant that leads Jewish-American soldiers on a campaign of Nazi scalp collecting (100 per soldier, to be exact), sat down with NPR to discuss his career ahead of the release of his latest film, "Moneyball." When the conversation turned to talk of a scar on his character's neck, Pitt spilled that Tarantino plans on explaining the mark -- in the future.
"[Tarantino] said it would never be explained in [Inglourious Basterds] and if he ever does what he called a prequel-slash-sequel, then we'll reveal it then," he told Fresh Air. "He talks about [a sequel], but he's got several things percolating at once."
That jives with what Tarantino said all the way back in 2009, when he told Vulture that he was already 40 pages deep into writing a sequel.
He's done sequels before; Tarantino's "Kill Bill" saga has seen two hit films already released into theaters, with a third volume set for a 2014 release. The director is currently working on "Django Unchained," the Jamie Foxx and Waltz-starring story of slave redemption.
Pitt also spoke about his personal life, including the decision to sell the first photos of his children. Back in 2008, he and Angelina Jolie sold the first pictures of twins Knox and Vivienne to Hello! and People Magazine for a reported $14 million.
"I know some of these guys who are in that 'stalkerazzi' world, and you really have to separate them from the paparazzi in our industry. That's another breed. They have their heroes who got the big, scandalous shot, which just promotes more of that," Pitt explained. "It's a very strange thing to be selling photos of something that's very intimate and personal. And those of which you want to protect. We have to plan an escape every day just to get out of the house -- kind of a Mission Impossible with decoys, and that's the life we live in, and that's the one we asked for. But we knew there was a bounty on our head ... and we know the lengths they go to to get that shot. So we figured, 'Let's cut it off in the beginning,' and instead of that money going to people I do not respect, we would make some good out of it."
Pitt's fame and drew aren't waning, either; his "Moneyball" took in nearly $7 million at the box office Friday night and is on pace to open number one.

The 9 0’Clock News – Brad Pitt doesn’t want people saying mean things about Jennifer Aniston

Brad Pitt doesn’t want people saying mean things about Jennifer Aniston

Brad Pitt doesn’t want people saying mean things about Jennifer Aniston

Brad Pitt doesn’t want anyone dissing his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston. We assume he’s talking mostly about himself here.

Brad has been in trouble recently for saying – how shall we put it? – insensitive things about his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston in an interview. The Moneyball star told Parade magazine,

“I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."

Ever since those ill thought out comments about his marriage to Jen, Brad has been doing all he can to back peddle. In his latest attempt to smooth things over, the dad of six has spoken on the Today show in the US, asserting that he doesn’t want anyone speaking badly of his ex,

“I don't want [people] to say anything bad like that about Jen. She's a dear friend of mine. The best thing I'd done as a father is be sure that my kids have a good mother. I think it's a shame that I can't say something nice about Angie without Jen being dragged in. She doesn't deserve it."

Oh dear Brad, if we wanted to be mean we could infer from that comment that you thought Jen wouldn’t make a good mother. We’ll give you the benefit of the doubt though.

Helen Mirren haunted by “that b***** bikini photo”

Helen Mirren haunted by “that b***** bikini photo”

When Helen Mirren flashed her fantastic figure in that red bikini three years ago, she became a sex symbol. However, there's one person who isn’t a fan of the shots of Helen soaking up the sun on an Italian beach, and that's the Dame herself.

“That b***** photo will haunt me for the rest of my life,” Helen told The Mirror at the red carpet premiere for her new film The Debt.

“I don’t actually look like that,” continues the Dame, “and I’ll be forever trying to bury it unsuccessfully.”

We think 66-year-old Dame Helen always looks amazing, but she puts her sexy image down to knowing how to dress well, “One of my secrets is I’m actually not in great shape. I just cover it well, mind over matter.”

REM Split after 31 years together

REM Split after 31 years together

It’s a sad day for music fans. Alt-rock legends REM have decided to split up after an incredible 31 years as a group.

The band posted a statement on their official website to announce the news,

“To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening."

Lead singer Michael Stipe added, “A wise man once said - 'the skill in attending a party is knowing when it's time to leave. We built something extraordinary together. We did this thing. And now we're going to walk away from it. I hope our fans realise this wasn't an easy decision; but all things must end; and we wanted to do it right, to do it our way. We have to thank all the people who helped us be R.E.M. for these 31 years, our deepest gratitude to those who allowed us to do this. It's been amazing."

Brad Pitt: 'People twist Jennifer Aniston quotes!'

Brad Pitt: 'People twist Jennifer Aniston quotes!'.
.It must be tough for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston:  they haven’t been together for yonks, both have new relationships, Brad even has about 20 kids with someone else but still we are still all obsessed with them.
Well, Mr Pitt is just sick of all the chat!
A while back quotes came out in which Brad labelled his five year marriage to Jen as ‘not that interesting’ which we all read as: ‘she is boring’. Obviously.
Since he said it he has been frantically back peddling in various statements, for example: “The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself and that, I am responsible for."
Yeah, we bet it wasn’t her it was him too.
But it would seem Brad is still trying to worm his way out and further insisting that the quotes were taken in the wrong way, saying once again how he never intended to say she was a ‘dull person’. Speaking last night he said:
"That was never my intention for it to be spun that way, people read things into it that just weren't there" Er, Brad…We thinks thou dost protest too much?
Brad was speaking to reporters at last night’s premiere for his new film Moneyball  (it’s about baseball or something but who cares? Brad Pitt is in it remember?!). Wife, Angelina Jolie was not by his side at the premiere but maybe she was at home babysitting their horde of children.

Brad Pitt: Jennifer Aniston Marriage Diss In Parade Magazine Not Intended

Things had been going really well for Brad Pitt this fall, with glamorous film festival appearances, Oscar buzz and even some real-life heroics in Scotland. So, leave it to that never-ending thorn in his side -- his former marriage to Jennifer Aniston -- to complicate things.
Appearing on the cover of the upcoming Parade Magazine, he seems less than positive about his ex-wife in a number of quotes made available ahead of time from the article.
“I spent the ‘90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out," he tells the magazine. "It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn’t living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn’t."
Before the magazine even hits newsstands, Pitt has released a statement to try to pre-empt the controversy, saying that he was taken out of context, and that his career was truly the issue.
“It grieves me that this was interpreted this way," he says. "Jen is an incredibly giving, loving, and hilarious woman who remains my friend. It is an important relationship I value greatly. The point I was trying to make is not that Jen was dull, but that I was becoming dull to myself – and that, I am responsible for.”
Pitt discussed his past unhappiness with Entertainment Weekly in their latest cover story, too, though he was speaking about his career with that magazine.
“I am miserable. Six months in the f*cking dark. Contact lenses, makeup, I’m playing the bitch role…” he said about the "Interview with a Vampire" shoot. “One day, it broke me… I called David Geffen, who was a producer… I said, ‘David, I can’t do this anymore. I can’t do it. How much will it take to get me out?’ And he goes, very calmly, ‘Forty million dollars.’”
In happier remarks, Pitt glows about his current partner and the mother of his children, Angelina Jolie.
“I put much more emphasis on being a satisfied man," he tells Parade. "I’m satisfied with making true choices and finding the woman I love, Angie, and building a family that I love so much. A family is a risky venture, because the greater the love, the greater the loss. … That’s the trade-off. But I’ll take it all.”

Pitt stars in the upcoming "Moneyball," the critical darling that is earning raves from baseball fans -- it's about Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane -- and film reviewers alike.

Brad Pitt: "Mr & Mrs Smith was a great collaboration that turned into a greater one"

Brad Pitt: .
When they were filming comedy/action flick Mr & Mrs Smith, both Brad Pitt (who was of course still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time) and Angelina Jolie did their best to deny there was anything going on between them.

Remember how they refused to stand close to each other when they were out promoting the film back in 2005? They just made it even more obvious that something was happening, and fooled absolutely no one!

Years later and the parents to six seem a little more relaxed about admitting that they fell for each other on set. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Brad admits that their work on Mr & Mrs Smith ended with them becoming a couple,

"A husband and wife who actually want to kill each other - I thought that was a launching pad for something really fun and vibrant."Continues Brad, "Again, that was something we were developing as we were going along, and Angie's a great partner in that. We work really well together. We had some good workshops beforehand. Had some good laughs and ideas. That was just a great collaboration that turned into a greater collaboration."

Sexiest man alive

In the same interview, Brad also admitted that he's never taken the sexiest man alive polls and accolades seriously (we're glad to hear it), "Well, they're not saying you're the Biggest A--hole, you know? When you get older, you realise it's just for fun. Clooney and I were able to have fun with it later."
